About

I grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York and moved to Halifax in 2009. I hold dual Canadian and American citizenship. Halifax is now my home where I live with my partner, Rebecca, and our dog, Tova.

My academic background in ancient philosophy and contemporary continental thought continues to shape how I approach questions of justice, responsibility, and human relationships. Over time, these interests led me toward legal study and practical work focused on how institutions understand and respond to conflict. I hold a BA from the University of King’s College and completed my MA, JD, and LLM at Dalhousie University.

In recent years, much of my work has focused on Canadian sport. I currently work with Sport Nova Scotia on the development of dispute resolution and support systems within the sport sector, while also maintaining a modest legal practice. I am interested in developing approaches that create more meaningful justice experiences for participants while strengthening the conditions that support athlete wellbeing. Drawing initially on restorative justice as a relational framework, I work with sport organizations, administrators, and athletes to think differently about how disputes are addressed, how responsibilities are shared, and how institutional structures can better reflect the needs of the communities they serve.

Outside of my professional work, I coach weightlifting at Ironstone Strength and Conditioning. Coaching and training remain important parts of my life and continue to inform how I think about sport culture, athlete development, and the everyday environments that shape people’s experiences in sport.
